Goals: Stormwater Management, Orderly, Diverse
DBN partnered with the iBio Center to retrofit an existing grassy swale with native plants. The goal was to increase the functionality, beauty, and biodiversity of the swale while maintaining a managed and orderly aesthetic.
Forbs are distributed into orderly rows within a matrix of grasses and sedges including Carex vulpinoidieae (Fox Sedge) and Sporobolus heterolepis (Prairie Dropseed)
Stats:
25+ Native species integrated into the design
4,765 gallons intercepted per inch of rain
